| Railenergy is a research project within the EU R&D framework program. Transrail's part in the project is to manage a work package regarding energy efficient operation. This includes energy efficient driving and timetabling. | |

| During a period of 6 months EMR needed assistance to manage their maintenance of SJAB fleet of 441 passenger coaches. At the same time an improvement program should be carried out. The work included daily issues as regards the maintenance at the workshops, various problems management and technical problems etc. Among other things an internet based IT-tool to manage and monitor the maintenance production was developed. | |

| Computer Aided Train Operation, a R&D project financed by clients and Transrail, is intended to optimise train driving, thus reducing operational costs and enhancing line capacity. | During the first years of operation of the Arlanda Express, Transrail managed the reliability monitoring programme. Information on traffic and vehicle disturbances from drivers, the traffic control centre and the workshop was compiled in a database, enabling analysis of train and subsystem reliability, traffic consequences and maintenance actions. | |

| SIKA and the Swedish rail, road and maritime administrations cooperate on a national model for goods transport – Samgods, to carry out transportation forecasts, to identify and to study effects of infrastructure investments. Using our TSDA system Transrail built a realistic model to calculate empty runs (railway, road, sea), which is an essential part of the traffic flows. | |
| Requirement specification for a new generation ticketing systems for SL | |
| Based on our experience to handle project aspects on aesthetic and functional design, Transrail was commissioned to develop the design requirement specification for the purchase of a Smart Card ticketing system by SL. | |
| Software for the calculation of train crew payments | |
| In 2000 the private operator Tågkompaniet took over the contract to operate the night-train services to the north of Sweden from SJ. Transrail was contracted by both parties for a taking over status review of the rolling stock (110 vehicles). Review instructions were developed, a team organised and the controls were carried out during a short time period. | |
